Lessons
Driving lessons for every stage
From your very first time behind the wheel to the week before your test, every lesson follows a plan and ends with clear feedback.
Beginner lessons
Never driven before? We start on quiet roads and build up controls, junctions and roundabouts at your own pace.
Manual lessons
Learn clutch control, smooth gear changes and hill starts in a dual-control manual car.
Automatic lessons
No clutch and no gears to think about, so you can focus on the road, traffic and planning ahead.
Intensive courses
Several lessons a week over one to four weeks, planned around a test date or a deadline you already have.
Test preparation
Mock tests on local routes, the vehicle safety questions, and the use of a familiar car on test day.
Refresher lessons
Back behind the wheel after a break, or new to highways and night driving? Rebuild your confidence step by step.
Manual or automatic
Choose the car you want to learn in
Both are taught in dual-control cars. Not sure which suits you? Book one lesson in each and decide afterwards.
Manual lessons
You learn to use the clutch and change gear yourself. It takes a little longer to master, and you can drive both manual and automatic cars afterwards.
- Clutch control and smooth gear changes
- Hill starts and slow traffic
- Good if you may drive a manual car later
Automatic lessons
The car changes gear for you, so there are fewer controls to think about and more attention left for the road around you.
- Simple controls: accelerate, brake, steer
- Relaxed in town and stop-start traffic
- Popular with nervous and returning drivers
In some countries, passing your test in an automatic car means your licence covers automatic cars only. Check the rules where you live before you choose.
How lessons work
From your first drive to your driving test
Bring your learner’s permit or provisional licence to your first lesson. We pick you up, and you drive from day one.
1
Book a first lesson
Tell us about any driving you have done. Your first lesson shows where you are and what to work on next.
2
Get your lesson plan
Your instructor suggests a weekly rhythm that fits your diary and gives you an honest idea of the hours you may need.
3
Learn and track progress
Each lesson builds on the last. You get short notes on what went well and what to practise next time.
4
Mock test, then the real one
When you drive at test standard, we run a mock test and help you choose a test date that suits you.

In the weeks before your test we practise the manoeuvres, roads and situations that local tests often include, so very little feels new on the day.
- Mock tests in real test conditions
- Practice on the roads around local test centres
- Parking, turning in the road and emergency stops
- Vehicle safety questions and checks before you drive

FAQ
Questions learners ask us
Cannot find your answer? Call or text us and we will be happy to help.
Do I need a licence or permit before my first lesson?
Yes. You need a valid learner’s permit or provisional licence for your area before you drive on public roads. Bring it to your first lesson, and ask us if you are not sure what you need.
How many lessons will I need?
It depends on your experience, how often you drive and how quickly you feel confident. After your first lesson your instructor gives you an honest estimate and updates it as you progress.
Who books the driving test?
You book the test with your licensing authority, and we help you choose a date. We suggest booking once your instructor agrees you are close to test standard.
Where do you pick me up?
From home, school, college or work anywhere in the area we cover. We can also drop you somewhere else at the end of the lesson.
Can I use your car for the test?
Yes, with the test-day package: a warm-up lesson before the test and the use of the dual-control car you learned in.
What if I need to cancel a lesson?
Tell us at least 48 hours before and we will move your lesson free of charge (example policy).
