Classes give you new language; practice between them helps you keep it. A little every day works better than a long session once a week.
- Ten minutes of review: read your class notes again the next day, and once more before the following class.
- Listen on the move: podcasts or radio for learners at your level, on the way to work or while cooking.
- Say it out loud: describe what you are doing as you do it, or read a short text aloud.
- Write three sentences: a short diary in the language you are learning, about your day or your plans.
- Meet the language: a café menu, a recipe or a song in the language, read slowly with a dictionary.
Choose one or two habits and keep them for a month before you add another. If you are not sure what to practise, ask your teacher at the end of class: they can suggest something that fits your level.
