How a repair works

No surprises at the counter: you know the price before we pick up a spanner.

1

Drop it off

Bring the bike in on the day you booked. We write the job on a tag, tie it to the handlebars and give you the stub.

2

We check and quote

A mechanic looks the bike over on the stand. If it needs more than you booked, we call or text you with a price.

3

We fix it

We do only the work you agreed to, then test ride the bike around the block.

4

Collect and ride

We text you when it is ready. Bring the stub, and we talk you through what we did and what to watch for.

What riders say

“My commuter bike went in on Monday with a grinding noise and came back on Wednesday quiet. They called first to say the chain and cassette were worn and what it would cost.”

Sample customer
Commuter, city bike

“They sized both kids for their first proper bikes and let them ride up and down outside until they picked one. A month later the free check-up took ten minutes.”

Sample customer
Parent, two kids’ bikes

“I joined the Wednesday ride not knowing anyone. Nobody dropped me, and the puncture I got on the way home was fixed the next morning while I had a coffee.”

Questions we get at the counter

Cannot find your answer? Call us or drop by the workshop.

Do I need to book?

For a service or overhaul, yes: book a drop-off day so we have space on the stand. Quick fixes such as punctures, brake pads and gear tunes need no booking. Bring the bike in during opening hours.

How long will I be without my bike?

A safety check is usually ready the same day and a full service in two working days. If a part has to be ordered, we tell you the date when we call with the price.

Will you tell me the price first?

Always. We check the bike when you drop it off and again on the stand. Anything beyond the job you booked is quoted by phone or text, and we wait for your answer.

Do you work on e-bikes?

Yes, on most e-bikes. We service the brakes, gears and wheels like any bike, and check the motor and battery with the tools we have. Ask us about your make when you book.

Can you fix a bike I did not buy here?

Of course. We work on any make and age of bike, from a kids’ balance bike to a thirty-year-old road bike.

What if I cannot collect it straight away?

We keep finished bikes for a week at no charge. Let us know if you need longer (example policy).
