How it works
From first chat to steady progress, step by step
1
Free assessment
Your child meets a tutor for a relaxed chat and a short skills check. You tell us what school has said and what worries you.
2
A learning plan
We share what we found in plain words and suggest a plan: the subject, the format, how often and the first goals.
3
Weekly sessions
Your child learns with the same tutor each week, in a small group, one-to-one or online, with short homework to practise.
4
Progress reports
A quick note after sessions and a written report each term, so you always know what has improved and what comes next.

About us
A friendly learning centre where every question is welcome
We started the centre for children who feel lost in a busy classroom. Our tutors slow down, find the gaps, and explain each idea in a way that makes sense, so learning feels possible again.
- A free assessment before any paid sessions
- Small groups, one-to-one or online lessons
- After-school and Saturday sessions
- A written progress report for parents each term
Our approach
Calm, clear teaching, one step at a time
Small groups
Groups of up to six students, so everyone gets time with the tutor and nobody hides at the back.
Clear goals
Each child works towards a few clear goals from their assessment, and we celebrate every one they reach.
Regular updates
Short notes after sessions and a written report each term, in plain words, with ideas to help at home.
Safety first
A named safeguarding lead and a written safeguarding policy that every parent can read.

Progress stories
What progress can look like
Small steps add up. Here is the kind of change families notice after a term or two of regular sessions.
Example (sample)
Year 4 · Maths
Times tables and fractions
Before: avoided maths homework and guessed at fractions.
After one term: knows the times tables up to 10 and explains fractions with drawings.
Example (sample)
Year 7 · English
Reading and writing
Before: read slowly and wrote very short answers in class.
After one term: reads a chapter a night and plans longer answers with a simple checklist.
Example (sample)
Year 11 · Science
Exam preparation
Before: felt unsure where to start revising for final exams.
After two terms: follows a weekly revision plan and practises past papers with confidence.
These are sample stories that show the layout, not real results. Every child learns at their own pace, and no tutor can promise a grade.

FAQ
Questions parents ask us
Cannot find your answer? Call or email us, we are happy to help.
What ages do you teach?
We teach children and teenagers from age 5 to 18, from early reading and number skills to final school exams. Groups are arranged by age and level.
How big are the groups?
Small groups have up to six students of a similar level, so everyone gets time with the tutor. If your child needs more focused help, one-to-one sessions are available too.
How will I know if my child is making progress?
Tutors send a short note after sessions, and you receive a written progress report each term with what has improved, what comes next and ideas to help at home.
What happens at the free assessment?
Your child has a relaxed chat and a short skills check with a tutor while you share what school has told you. Afterwards we suggest a plan. There is no obligation to sign up.
Do you follow the school curriculum?
Yes. Lessons follow the topics your child is learning at school and fill any gaps from earlier years. Bring recent school reports or homework to the assessment if you can.
What if we miss a session?
Let us know as early as you can. Where there is space, we offer a catch-up session in another group or online, and we send the work so your child does not fall behind.
