Services
Funerals, cremation and memorial services, with prices written down and explained. Every choice can be religious, non-religious or somewhere in between.
Funerals and cremation
Four ways to say goodbye. Each can be religious, non-religious or somewhere in between, led by your own minister, a celebrant or the family.
Traditional funeral
A service in our chapel, a place of worship or another place that mattered to them, followed by burial or cremation.
What is included
- Care of your person from the first call
- A private time to say goodbye, if you wish
- The service, planned with you
- Hearse and one family car
Cremation with a service
A funeral service with your person present, followed by cremation. The ashes are returned to you.
What is included
- Care of your person from the first call
- The service in our chapel or a place you choose
- All the paperwork for cremation
- A simple urn, or one of your choice
Direct cremation
Cremation without a service beforehand. Many families hold their own gathering later, in their own way.
What is included
- Bringing your person into our care
- All the paperwork for cremation
- The cremation
- Return of the ashes to you
Memorial service
A gathering without the body present, on a day and in a place that suits the family, weeks or months later if you prefer.
What is included
- Help planning the order of service
- Our chapel or a venue you choose
- Printed orders of service
- A celebrant or your own minister
Not sure which is right? Talk to us. We will explain the choices without any pressure.

Paid to others on your behalf
Cemetery or crematorium fees, copies of the death certificate, newspaper notices, flowers and the fee of a minister or celebrant. We tell you each amount before we pay it.
Our full itemised price list is free to take away, by email, by post or in person, with no obligation. Many countries require funeral homes to give one on request; in the United States this is part of the FTC Funeral Rule.

Planning ahead
Some people like to write down their wishes, so their family does not have to guess. You can do this with us at any time, and change it whenever you like.
What you can decide now
- Burial or cremation, and where
- Where the service is held, or whether to have one
- Music, readings and who you would like to speak
- Flowers, or donations to a cause you care about
- Who should be told, and how
Paying in advance is optional. If you choose to, ask how the money is held and what happens if you move away; the rules differ from state to state and country to country.
After the funeral
Our care does not end on the day itself. Call us whenever you need to, in the weeks and months that follow.
Help with paperwork
A written list of who to tell and what to send them: banks, pensions, insurance and government offices.
Ashes and memorials
We can keep the ashes until you are ready, and help with scattering, burial of ashes or a memorial stone.
Someone to talk to
A bereavement group meets in our family room on the first Tuesday of each month (sample). Everyone is welcome.
Questions families ask
Something else on your mind? Call us on (555) 017-0114, at any hour.
Someone has died at home. What do I do first?
If the death was expected, call the family doctor or hospice nurse so the death can be confirmed. If it was sudden or unexpected, call 911. Then call us when you are ready. There is no need to rush.
Do we have to decide everything on the first call?
No. On the first call we only need to know where your person is and how to reach you. Everything else can wait until you meet us.
Can we see our person before the funeral?
Yes, if you wish. We arrange a private time in our family room, on your own or with family and friends.
Is embalming needed?
For many choices it is not. We tell you if something you choose, such as a public viewing several days later, would need it, and you decide.
Do you arrange services for every faith, or none?
Yes. Your own minister or faith leader can lead the service, or a celebrant, or the family. We follow your customs and your wishes.
Can I have your price list before I decide?
Yes. Ask by phone, by email or in person and we will give you our full itemised price list, with no obligation.
How and when do we pay?
We ask for a deposit when you arrange the funeral and the rest within 30 days (example terms). Ask us about paying in parts.
Call us at any hour
Whether someone has just died or you simply have a question, a member of our team will answer, day and night, every day of the year.
