If someone has just died
You do not need to know what to do. These are the first steps, in the order they usually happen. We can help with each one.
If you would rather talk than read, call us. A member of our team answers day and night.
What can wait until tomorrow

- Meet us to arrange the funeralAt our office or in your home, usually within a day or two. You do not have to decide everything at once.
- Order copies of the death certificateBanks and other offices ask for them. We can request the copies for you and tell you how many families usually need.

Planning ahead
Some people like to write down their wishes, so their family does not have to guess. You can do this with us at any time, and change it whenever you like.
What you can decide now
- Burial or cremation, and where
- Where the service is held, or whether to have one
- Music, readings and who you would like to speak
- Flowers, or donations to a cause you care about
- Who should be told, and how
Paying in advance is optional. If you choose to, ask how the money is held and what happens if you move away; the rules differ from state to state and country to country.

Questions families ask
Something else on your mind? Call us on (555) 017-0114, at any hour.
Someone has died at home. What do I do first?
If the death was expected, call the family doctor or hospice nurse so the death can be confirmed. If it was sudden or unexpected, call 911. Then call us when you are ready. There is no need to rush.
Do we have to decide everything on the first call?
No. On the first call we only need to know where your person is and how to reach you. Everything else can wait until you meet us.
Can we see our person before the funeral?
Yes, if you wish. We arrange a private time in our family room, on your own or with family and friends.
Is embalming needed?
For many choices it is not. We tell you if something you choose, such as a public viewing several days later, would need it, and you decide.
Do you arrange services for every faith, or none?
Yes. Your own minister or faith leader can lead the service, or a celebrant, or the family. We follow your customs and your wishes.
Can I have your price list before I decide?
Yes. Ask by phone, by email or in person and we will give you our full itemised price list, with no obligation.
How and when do we pay?
We ask for a deposit when you arrange the funeral and the rest within 30 days (example terms). Ask us about paying in parts.
