Your visit
What to expect when you come in
A routine check-up usually takes about 30 minutes. Bring your child’s health record, any medicines they take and a favourite toy if it helps.
1
A friendly welcome
Check in at the front desk, then play in the waiting corner while we get the room ready.
2
Weight, height and a chat
A nurse measures your child and asks how things are going at home, at nursery or at school.
3
A gentle check
The doctor examines your child at their pace, explains each step and lets them hold the stethoscope first.
4
A clear plan
You leave knowing what we found, what to do next, and when to call us. Written notes are yours to keep.

Nights and weekends
Worried after hours?
Children rarely get sick during office hours. Here is who to call when the clinic is closed.
When we are closed
Call our usual number. The recorded message tells you how to reach the doctor on call tonight (sample arrangement).
Nurse advice line
Talk to a nurse about a fever, a rash, vomiting or whether your child needs to be seen before morning.
In an emergency
Trouble breathing, a seizure, a serious injury or a child who is very hard to wake: do not wait for a call back.
This website gives general information, not medical advice. If you are worried about your child, call us, and in an emergency call 911.
FAQ
Questions parents ask us
Still have a question? Call the front desk and we will gladly help.
These answers are general information, not medical advice for your child. If you are worried, call us. In an emergency, call 911.
How do we register as a new family?
Call us or fill in the new family form at the front desk. Bring your child’s birth date, insurance card and any vaccination record you have, and we will book a first visit.
Which insurance plans do you accept?
We work with many plans, and the list changes from time to time. Call us with your plan name before your first visit and we will check your coverage. Families without insurance can ask for our self-pay fees.
My child is sick. Should we come in, go to urgent care or the ER?
For a fever, a cough or an earache, call us in the morning for a same-day sick visit. When we are closed, use our after-hours line. Trouble breathing, a seizure, a serious injury or a child who is very hard to wake is an emergency: call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
How often should my child have a check-up?
Babies have several check-ups in their first two years, then most children come once a year. Your doctor will give you a schedule that fits your child, together with their vaccinations.
Can both parents come to the appointment?
Yes. Parents, guardians and siblings are welcome. Teenagers can also have part of the visit alone with the doctor if they wish.
Is your child having trouble breathing, a seizure or a serious injury? Call 911 now. Do not wait for a clinic appointment.
Time for your child’s next check-up?
Book online or call us, and we will find a time that works around nap time, school and work.
