Bouldering, ropes, classes and kids’ club
Everything you can do on the wall, what it costs and when the classes run. Every first visit starts with an induction.
Two ways to climb
Most people start on the bouldering wall and try the ropes on a later visit. Your induction covers whichever you choose.

Bouldering
Short climbs on walls up to 4.5 metres, over deep padded mats. No rope and no partner, so it is the easiest way to start.
Wall height
Up to 4.5 m
Grades
V0 to V7, reset every week
You need
Shoes and chalk (we lend both)

Ropes
Tall walls with auto-belays you can use on your own, and top ropes for two. A coach shows you how both work before you climb.
Wall height
Up to 12 m
Lines
6 auto-belays and 14 top ropes
You need
Harness and a belay check (we lend the harness)
Sample wall heights and numbers of lines.
How your first visit works
Everyone climbs with us for the first time after a short induction, even if you have climbed somewhere else.
1
Book an induction
Pick a time online or call us. Inductions run every day, for up to six people at a time.
2
Learn the basics
A coach shows you how to warm up, fall and land safely, read the grades and share the wall.
3
Climb
Stay as long as you like after the induction. Start on the V0 tape and see how far you get.
4
Come back on your own
Once you are inducted, walk in any day with a day pass, a 10-visit card or a membership.

What the grades mean
Every climb on the bouldering wall has a strip of tape at the start with its grade. The V-scale starts at V0, and the higher the number, the harder the climb.
Each tape colour covers two grades, so you can spot the climbs at your level from across the room.
Grades are a guide. Our setters agree on each one, but a climb can feel easier or harder depending on your height and style.
V0
Big holds, like a ladder. Most people climb one in their first hour.
V1
Still big holds, a little further apart.
V2
Smaller holds. Your feet start to matter more than your arms.
V3
A move or two that needs a plan. Common after a few months.
V4
Steeper walls and sloping holds. Technique beats strength.
V5
Hard moves in a row. Regulars work on these over several visits.
V6
Small holds on steep walls, and precise body position.
V7
The hardest set here. Projects for strong, experienced climbers.

Kids’ club
Coached sessions for children from five, grouped by age and by the tape they climb. Kids move up a group when their coach thinks they are ready.

Saturday 9:00–10:00. Games on the low wall and lots of jumping onto the mats.
V2–V3

Questions before your first visit
Something else on your mind? Call the front desk on (555) 017-0112.
I have never climbed. Can I still come?
Yes. Most people at an induction have never climbed before. The coach starts with the basics, and the easiest climbs are not much harder than a ladder.
Do I need my own climbing shoes?
No. Shoes are included in your induction, and after that you can hire them at the front desk. Climbing shoes should feel snug, so we help you find the right size.
What is the waiver and do I have to sign it?
Everyone signs a short waiver before they climb, and a parent or guardian signs for under-18s. It explains the risks of climbing and the wall rules. You can read it at the front desk before you sign (placeholder text).
How old do you have to be?
Children from five can join the kids’ club. From 14 you can do the induction, and under-18s climb with a parent or guardian unless they are in a coached session (example policy).
What should I wear?
Clothes you can stretch in, like leggings or loose trousers and a T-shirt. Take off rings and watches, and tie back long hair.
Can I come on my own?
Yes. Bouldering and the auto-belays need no partner, so plenty of people climb on their own.
Book your induction
Pick a day and time, come ten minutes early to sign the waiver, and climb for as long as you like afterwards. Shoes and chalk are included.
