Wedding dresses are made in standard sizes, so most need a few changes to fit perfectly. Alterations usually take two or three fittings.
First fitting
The seamstress pins the dress to your shape: length, waist, straps and any changes you would like, such as adding sleeves. Bring the shoes and underwear you will wear on the day.
Second fitting
You try the dress with the first changes sewn in. Small adjustments are made, and the bustle is planned so your train can be lifted for dancing.
Final fitting
A last check that everything fits and moves well. Bring the person who will help you dress on the day so they can learn how to fasten the gown and the bustle.
Alteration prices depend on the dress and the work needed, so ask for a quote at your first fitting.
