Small inns and B&amp;Bs already have most of the things you need, so you can leave a lot at home. Here is a simple list to start from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Clothes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Layers you can add or take off: a T-shirt, a warm jumper and a light waterproof jacket.<\/li>\n\n<li>Comfortable walking shoes, plus a second pair in case the first get wet.<\/li>\n\n<li>Something a little smarter for dinner out.<\/li>\n\n<li>Something comfortable to wear in your room or the lounge.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Little things that make a difference<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Phone and camera chargers, and a short extension lead if you need several sockets.<\/li>\n\n<li>Any medicines you take, in their original packaging.<\/li>\n\n<li>A book, a pack of cards or a travel game for a slow evening.<\/li>\n\n<li>A reusable water bottle for walks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What you can usually leave at home<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most B&amp;Bs provide towels, bedding, toiletries and a hair dryer, and many have a tea and coffee tray in the room. If you are not sure, check the room description or ask before you travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Travelling with a dog or children<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If your dog is coming too, bring its bed or blanket, food, bowls and a towel for muddy paws, and tell us when you book so we can give you a dog-friendly room. For children, a favourite toy and a night light help them settle in a new place. Ask about cots and extra beds in advance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, save the address and phone number of where you are staying, and let your hosts know if you will arrive late.
