You do not need a packed itinerary. Here is the easy plan we suggest to most guests, with a little of everything and plenty of time to sit down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Saturday morning: the market and the old town<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After breakfast, walk into the old town. On Saturday mornings the farmers\u2019 market fills the square with bread, cheese, flowers and coffee stalls. Go early for the best choice, then wander the side streets for independent shops and small galleries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Saturday afternoon: the riverside walk<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The path along the brook starts a few minutes from our front door. It is flat and easy, so it suits most walkers, and you can turn back whenever you like. Bring a layer: it is cooler by the water, even in summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Wear comfortable shoes; the path can be muddy after rain.<\/li>\n\n<li>Ask us for a printed map before you set off.<\/li>\n\n<li>Dogs are welcome on the path; please keep them on a lead near livestock and other walkers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Saturday evening: dinner nearby<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We keep a short list of places for dinner within walking distance, from a cosy pub to a small bistro. Weekend tables go quickly, so tell us at check-in and we will try to reserve one for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sunday: a slow start and a day trip<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Breakfast is served a little later at weekends, so there is no need to rush. Afterwards, drive or take the train to the hills, a lake or a nearby village for the day. We are happy to suggest a route, and you can leave your luggage with us after check-out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Opening times, markets and events change through the year, so check before you go, or simply ask at the front desk.
