These methods bring back a crisp base and bubbling cheese.

Best: a frying pan

Put the slices in a cold, dry non-stick or cast-iron pan and set it over medium heat.

After two to three minutes, when the base is crisp, add a few drops of water to the pan, away from the pizza, and cover with a lid.

Leave it for another minute. The steam melts the cheese while the base stays crisp.

For a whole pizza: the oven

Heat the oven to about 220 °C (425 °F) with a baking tray inside.

Put the pizza on the hot tray and bake for 5 to 8 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the edge is crisp.

Lay a sheet of foil loosely on top if the toppings start to brown too quickly.

Quick: the air fryer

Two or three slices fit in most air fryers. Heat at about 180 °C (350 °F) for 3 to 4 minutes and check halfway.

Storing leftovers safely

Put leftover pizza in the fridge within two hours of delivery or serving.

Keep it in an airtight box or wrapped well, and eat it within three to four days.

Reheat it until it is steaming hot all the way through.

Ordering for later? Ask us to leave the pizza uncut so it reheats more evenly.

Skip the microwave.
