You do not need to have everything perfectly organised; bring what you have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Documents<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Photo ID<\/strong>, such as a driving licence or passport. Many firms must check your identity before they can act for you.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Anything in writing about your matter<\/strong>: letters, emails, contracts, leases, wills, court papers or notices, including envelopes that show when something arrived.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Deadlines<\/strong>: any date in a letter or court paper, such as a hearing date or a date to reply by. Mention these at the very start of the meeting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Notes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A short timeline of what happened, in date order.<\/li>\n\n<li>The names of the other people or businesses involved, so the firm can check for conflicts of interest.<\/li>\n\n<li>A list of your questions, and what you would like to happen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Questions to ask<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What are my options, and what are the risks of each?<\/li>\n\n<li>How will you charge, and what is the estimate for my matter?<\/li>\n\n<li>Who will work on my file, and how will you keep me updated?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are not sure whether something is relevant, bring it anyway.
