These questions help you understand who you would be working with and what to expect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Do you regularly handle matters like mine?<\/strong> Ask how much of their work is in this area of law.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Who will do the work?<\/strong> Find out whether you will deal with one named lawyer, and who covers when they are away.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>How do you charge?<\/strong> Ask for the fee arrangement and an estimate in writing before work begins.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>What are my options?<\/strong> A good lawyer explains the realistic choices and risks, including doing nothing or settling.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>How and when will you update me?<\/strong> Agree how you will hear about progress, and how quickly calls and emails are usually answered.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Be cautious of anyone who promises a particular result.
