Small charities run on many kinds of help, and money is only one of them. Here are five that cost nothing but a little time.
- Share their posts. A share from someone local reaches people the charity cannot reach on its own.
- Offer a skill. Bookkeeping, photography, writing, repairs or driving can save a charity real money.
- Start a collection. A box at work or school for the items on the charity’s current list.
- Ask your employer. Some employers give staff volunteering days or match what they give.
- Tell people who need help. Many people do not know the service exists. Passing on the opening times can make a difference.
Whatever you choose, ask the charity first what helps them most right now.
