Good packing is about stopping that movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What you need<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Small and medium double-wall boxes (big boxes get too heavy when full of crockery).<\/li>\n\n<li>Plenty of packing paper and some bubble wrap.<\/li>\n\n<li>Strong packing tape and a thick marker.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Plates and bowls<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Put a layer of scrunched paper in the bottom of the box.<\/li>\n\n<li>Wrap each plate on its own, then stand plates on their edge, like records, not flat in a pile.<\/li>\n\n<li>Fill every gap with paper so nothing moves when you gently shake the box.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Glasses and mugs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Stuff the inside of each glass with paper, then wrap the outside.<\/li>\n\n<li>Pack glasses upright, rims up, with heavier items at the bottom of the box.<\/li>\n\n<li>Use cardboard dividers if you have them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pictures, mirrors and lamps<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tape a cross over mirror glass, wrap the frame in bubble wrap and stand it upright.<\/li>\n\n<li>Take shades off lamps, remove bulbs and wrap the base and shade separately.<\/li>\n\n<li>Ask your movers about picture boxes for large frames and TVs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Label clearly<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Write &#8220;FRAGILE&#8221; and &#8220;THIS WAY UP&#8221; on at least two sides, plus the room it goes to.
