FAQ
Good to know before class
Still have a question? Call or email the studio and we will be happy to help.
What age can my child start?
Tiny dancers starts at age 3. From 5, children join a class for their age group and move up as they grow in confidence. Teens and adults can start at any level, including complete beginners.
What should we wear to a trial class?
Comfortable clothes that are easy to move in, socks or bare feet, and long hair tied back. Please leave jewellery at home. No uniform or special shoes are needed for a trial.
Is there a uniform?
Yes, a simple one: a leotard or school T-shirt in the colour for each class, plus the right shoes. We help you choose sizes, and second-hand items are often available.
Which dance shoes do we need?
Ballet shoes for ballet, tap shoes for tap and clean indoor trainers for hip hop. Jazz and contemporary are danced in jazz shoes or bare feet. Buy them after the trial, once you know which class suits.
Can parents watch the class?
Dancers focus best without an audience, so parents wait in the waiting area. Once a term, during watch week, families are invited into the studio to see the class.
How do you keep children safe?
We follow a written safeguarding and child protection policy, have a named safeguarding lead, and only hand children over to adults you have named. Ask us for a copy of the policy at any time.
What if we miss a class or want to stop?
Missed classes can usually be made up in a similar class that term. To leave, please give half a term’s notice so we can offer the place to someone on the waiting list.
