Here is a simple guide to sizes, servings and timing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Count your guests, then decide on the slice<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The number of slices depends on how you cut the cake. A cake served as dessert after a meal is usually cut into bigger slices than a cake served alongside other food at a party. As a rough guide for a round cake about 4 inches (10 cm) tall:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>6-inch (15 cm):<\/strong> about 8 to 12 slices.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>8-inch (20 cm):<\/strong> about 14 to 20 slices.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>10-inch (25 cm):<\/strong> about 25 to 35 slices.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Two tiers (6-inch on 8-inch):<\/strong> about 30 to 40 slices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are unsure, tell us the number of guests and how the cake will be served, and we will suggest a size.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Order early<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Celebration cakes are baked and decorated to order, so allow time. As a guide, ask us at least a few days ahead for a single-tier cake and several weeks ahead for a tiered or wedding cake. Busy weekends fill up first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What to tell us when you order<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The date and time you need it, and whether you will collect it.<\/li>\n\n<li>The number of guests and how the cake will be served.<\/li>\n\n<li>The flavour, filling and frosting you would like.<\/li>\n\n<li>Colours, a theme, a photo for inspiration and any message for the top.<\/li>\n\n<li>Any allergies or dietary needs among your guests.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Getting it home safely<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Carry the box flat, on the floor of the car or in the boot, never on a seat.
